Recurrent Subluxation and Dislocation of Patella

Abstract

|
Clinically the problems of patello-femoral joint are often overlooked. Sometimes it is very difficult to diagnose the recurrent subluxation or dislocation of patella because the subluxed or dislocated patella reduced spontaneously.
The recurrent dislocation of patella occur more often in the knee with underlying anatomic abnormalities. For the treatment of recurrent subluxation or dislocation of the patella, more than 100 operations have been described. Therefore it is
difficult
to choose an appropriate operation.
The purpose of this paper is to review the causes, diagnosis and operative treatment of reurrent subluxation and dislocation of patella.
